About the role
Grossberg Company LLP, a Washington DC mid-size CPA firm, seeks a skilled Tax Supervisor to join its team in North Bethesda, Maryland. This position offers a hybrid work environment with 2 days/week in the office and the rest of the week at the employee's discretion.
Responsibilities
- Provide tax planning and compliance services to high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses.
- Support auditing, accounting, and tax work for a variety of client engagements.
- Research and file tax compliance issues and requirements.
- Review tax returns and ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct tax consulting, researching complex tax issues using internal revenue code, treasury regulations, and other relevant authorities and guidance.
- Draft tax technical memorandums.
- Perform tax structuring and modeling.
- Serve as the engagement manager over time on specific client accounts, managing pre-engagement planning, execution, final deliverables, and billing and collections.
- Expand the scope of current engagements by identifying client needs.
- Develop industry knowledge and expertise, and share that knowledge with the team.
- Become a technical resource in an area of specialty.
- Show sound business judgment.
- Motivate and train both self and staff.
Requirements
- BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field required.
- CPA is preferred.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a public accounting arena.
- Current public accounting experience.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Strong research skills.
- Prominent technical skills with Excel, Word, and audit software.
- Solid organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of staff.
- Desire to work in a team environment.
- Possess positive and professional attitude.
- Able to work quickly and independently in a busy and demanding environment.
Qualifications
- BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field required.

Pay
Minimum Annual Salary $85,000 - Maximum Annual Salary $150,000. The annual target salary in the Washington, DC job market is listed above. The compensation for this position will be based on education, certifications, experience, expertise, and skills of the successful candidate.
