About the role
The Institute of Future Media, Democracy and Society (FuJo) at Dublin City University is seeking to recruit a Postdoctoral Researcher to work on the Provenance project. The successful candidate will join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team of researchers and will contribute to research on verification and provenance of digital content.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research on content provenance and verification of digital media
- Contribute to the development of tools and methodologies for assessing content authenticity
- Engage with stakeholders including journalists, fact-checkers, and platform representatives
- Publish research findings in high-quality academic journals and present at conferences
- Contribute to project reporting and deliverables
- Collaborate with project partners across Europe
Requirements
- A PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Data Science, Digital Media, Communications, or related field)
- Strong research track record appropriate to career stage
- Experience with data analysis and research methodologies
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Qualifications
- Knowledge of digital media ecosystems and online information environments
- Experience with computational or quantitative research methods
- Familiarity with issues relating to disinformation, verification, and media trust
- Experience engaging with non-academic stakeholders
Pay
- Salary: €43,000 – €50,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Schedule
- Full-time, fixed-term contract for 18 months
