Hybrid Cloud & Infrastructure Security Customer Engineer

About the role

This role is a remote, salaried position focusing on hybrid cloud infrastructure, edge computing, and cloud-native security for Microsoft Azure.

Responsibilities

• Work across hybrid cloud infrastructure, edge computing, and cloud-native security to help customers architect and secure modern workloads on Microsoft Azure.
• Guide customers through deployment and optimization of Azure VMware Solutions (AVS), enabling customers to migrate and extend vSphere workloads into Azure.
• Lead customers through design and implementation of scalable Azure Virtual Machine and AKS (Kubernetes) solutions to support modernized app workloads.
• Advise clients on how to secure perimeter controls using Azure Firewall, Web Application Firewall (WAF), and network segmentation strategies.
• Advises clients on how to implement Azure Virtual WAN to deliver global transit connectivity and secure branch-to-Azure architecture.
• Collaborate with customers on hybrid cloud adoption strategies, balancing control, flexibility, and cost.
• Align deployments with Microsoft’s Well-Architected Framework, and help customers build resilient, secure infrastructure that supports IoT and cloud-native compute.

Requirements

• 10-15+ years of experience in enterprise IT, cloud technologies, security, or infrastructure with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies.
• 7 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, hybrid deployments, or enterprise networking.
• Must have experience in Infrastructure as Code (IAC) in either Terraform or Bicep.
• Hands-on experience with VMware-to-Azure migrations, IoT platform integration, and AKS deployment.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security practices, especially around firewalls, app gateways, and virtual networks.
• Experience implementing branch connectivity, secure edge deployments, or multi-region networking.
• Ability to collaborate across customer teams—from infrastructure to security to application developers.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of key technologies including Azure VMware Solutions (AVS), ExpressRoute, Azure Arc, Azure Virtual Machines, AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service), Container Registry, Azure Firewall, Web Application Firewall (WAF), NSGs, DDoS Protection, Azure Virtual WAN, Route Tables, VNET Peering, Azure DNS, Azure Policy, Azure Monitor, Defender for Cloud, Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF), Well-Architected Framework (WAF), and Infrastructure as Code (IAC) in Terraform and/or Bicep.

Skills

• Strong understanding of hybrid infrastructure, compute & containers, security, networking, governance, and design frameworks relevant to Microsoft Azure.
