About the role

The Hybrid Aesthetic Specialist is a dual-role team member who works as both a Medical Assistant and a licensed Master Aesthetician, moving between the clinic and the spa to give every patient one seamless, world-class experience. In the clinic, where the majority of your time will be spent, you support our physician and lead nurse with clinical and administrative tasks under physician guidance. In the spa, you consult with clients, explain treatment options, and perform advanced skin treatments within your scope of practice. Experience as an Injector is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Clinical & Medical Assistant Duties

  • Patient Intake: Escort patients to exam rooms; take vital signs (weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature) and body or breast measurements when needed; record medical histories and all pertinent information electronically in the patient's chart. Exercise discretion to protect patients' privacy and dignity.
  • Room Management: Prepare rooms before each visit (lights, TV slideshows and music, white noise machines, supplies). Clean and disinfect between every patient, dispose of contaminated supplies, and keep rooms stocked and organized.
  • Clinical Support: Send pathology specimens, clean instruments, write patient notes, manage prescriptions under physician guidance, prepare injections (e.g., neurotoxins, fillers, numbing agents) for the provider, and upload photos.
  • In-Office Procedures: Assist with in-office procedures, ensuring treatment rooms are prepared and fully supplied.
  • Responsiveness: Promptly answer all patient messages in Symplast and Weave, and follow through on every commitment.

Master Aesthetician Duties

  • Consultations: Perform thorough consultations and facial assessments. Educate clients on pre- and post-care for every esthetic treatment, and recommend the products and treatments best suited to their needs.
  • Esthetic Treatments: Safely and skillfully perform treatments including, but not limited to, BBL, MOXI, microneedling, chemical peels, dermaplaning, facials, and laser hair reduction, following spa guidelines and staying within your scope of practice at all times.
  • Product Sales: Recommend products with confidence, focused on each patient's needs and goals, and stay current on new products and technologies introduced in the spa.
  • Patient Follow-Up: Check in after treatments and product recommendations to confirm satisfaction and make sure every patient feels supported after their visit.
  • Scheduling & Sales Tracking: Manage your esthetic schedule, prebook appointments, complete patient charting, and track daily sales.
  • Treatment Room Care: Keep treatment rooms clean, organized, and fully stocked; assist with laundry.
  • Social Media Engagement: Take before-and-after photos and create content that reflects your personality. Posting requirements: 2 posts per week, 1 story per week for openings, and 2 educational stories (about products or treatments).

Shared Expectations

  • World-Class Service: Listen actively, show empathy and patience, and build lasting, professional relationships with patients and colleagues. Use emotional intelligence to manage your own emotions and communicate well under pressure.
  • Communication: Communicate directly, assertively, honestly, and kindly with the Clinic Manager, Spa Manager, and your location lead, raising insights and concerns about patients or any other relevant matter. Collaborate with coworkers, practice blameless problem-solving, and offer genuine feedback.
  • Initiative & Accountability: Take initiative when guidance isn't available, find tasks that need attention, use idle time productively, and take responsibility for mistakes.
  • Continuing Education: Attend workshops, read professional publications, and take part in professional networks and societies.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • A valid Master Aesthetician license in Utah.
  • A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as a Master Aesthetician.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a medical assistant in a medical office environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of skincare treatments and products.
  • Comfort using electronic medical records to document patient details, and comfort with medical terminology.
  • Typing speed of 50+ WPM.
  • Willingness to follow all policies and procedures, with an understanding of the importance of medical compliance.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with a professional demeanor.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, and the ability to multitask and care for multiple patients at once.
  • A team-player attitude, with enthusiasm for collaboration and for enhancing the client experience.
