The Hybrid Cardiovascular Tech provides support to physicians and other medical personnel in real time surgery by evaluating radiologic options, performing radiologic imaging, and providing problem solving solutions to equipment issues during procedures in the Hybrid Lab in order to maximize efficiency and equipment usage.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients, imaging equipment, supplies and other equipment for Hybrid surgical procedures accurately utilizing sterile technique.
• Provides support to physicians and other personnel in real-time surgery by evaluating radiologic options, performing radiologic imaging, and providing problem solving solutions to equipment issues during procedures in the Hybrid Lab in order to maximize efficiency and equipment usage.
• Performs radiologic imaging prior to, during, and/or after surgery, to produce images used for clinical guidance and navigation.
• Ensures correct positioning of patient, prepares equipment and monitors patient condition before, during and after scanning.
• Creates accurate, high-quality images before, during, and after surgical procedures by operating imaging equipment and other Hybrid lab equipment/devices and adapts as necessary for procedures planned by physicians.
• Provides input to physicians on fluoroscopy imaging during procedures and acts as a fluoroscopy equipment resource.
• Anticipates fluoroscopy needs, exposure factors, and contrast media for patients undergoing hybrid procedures.
• Selects and handles instruments and supplies used for the procedure, monitors supplies as depleted and obtains additional supplies throughout surgical procedures and inventories all countable items pre- and post-surgery to ensure none remain in the patient
