Responsibilities
- Validate, characterize, and optimize power delivery circuits and subsystems at all stages of product development, from proof-of-concept to OK2Ship.
- Bring up, debug, and validate complex power circuitry on prototype hardware platforms.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain automated frameworks for power measurement and test case execution, with a strong focus on Python-based automation.
- Capture and analyze power consumption data across diverse usage scenarios, identifying trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Execute comprehensive validation test plans, reporting findings and tracking issues using industry-standard bug tracking systems.
- Perform root cause analysis for power, SoC/memory, and mixed-signal component issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Generate, maintain, and continuously improve validation test plans, reports, and detailed test instructions.
- Interface with Power and Performance architects, hardware and software engineers, and manufacturing to support mass production readiness and sustained product performance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 3 years experience validating power subsystems in consumer electronics.
- Proficient with laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, programmable power supplies, electronic loads, DAQ systems, function generators, and thermal chambers.
- In-depth knowledge of voltage regulators, including Buck and Boost converters, LDOs, load switches, and fuel gauges.
- Practical experience with board-level SoC power rails and embedded power management concepts.
- Strong grasp of communication protocols: I2C, SPI, UART; able to debug/interact with hardware over these interfaces.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience designing and executing power validation test plans.
- 3+ years experience automating hardware validation using Python (including test framework development and integration).
- Familiarity with ADB; Shell scripting experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with battery management systems, power profiling tools, and current sense techniques at the board/system level.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of automated test equipment integration (e.g., GPIB, VISA, remote instrument control libraries in Python).
- Experience validating power in high-volume mass production settings and shipping consumer devices.
- Background in SoC/PMIC power domain mapping, rail sequencing, and power-related system-level debugging.
- Experience generating KPIs and comprehensive validation reports for power consumption and efficiency.
