About the role
This position combines technical leadership, mentorship, and hands-on HVAC/R service work. You will develop expertise in specialized systems, deliver training, and support field teams while performing both office-based and onsite duties.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to field employees.
- Develop expertise in specialized HVAC/R systems, including VRF, chillers, hydronic loop systems, and boiler service.
- Attend manufacturer training to become a technical expert in specialized equipment.
- Develop best practices and technical procedures for field service teams.
- Serve as the primary technical support resource for field employees.
- Conduct onsite technical training at customer locations.
- Identify external and internal technical training opportunities.
- Develop and deliver internal training programs and classroom instruction.
- Support onboarding of new locations by ensuring proper operational setup.
- Develop preventive maintenance procedures for specialized equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex HVAC/R technical issues.
- Manage callback investigations and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct quality assurance inspections on maintenance and service work.
- Develop lesson plans, training materials, and hands-on laboratory exercises.
- Provide academic and technical support to trainees.
- Evaluate trainee performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Pursue additional licenses and certifications as required.
- Support company goals while promoting teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Perform both office-based training duties and field HVAC/R service work.
- Continue professional development and stay current with HVAC/R technologies.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of HVAC/R field service experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
- Excellent computer and technical skills.
- Ability to multitask and solve complex technical problems.
- Passion for teaching, mentoring, and developing technicians.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Qualifications
- Refrigeration License or equivalent.
- EPA Certification.
- Valid Driver's License.
