Primary Responsibilities

• Cook up with different project teams as necessary
• Make equipment specs
• Collaborate with clients, vendors, and suppliers to come up with cost estimates and help with proposals
• Do mass energy balances
• Create process and instrument drawings (P&IDs)
• Make equipment lists, line lists, and POC lists
• Write operation specs
• Work with designers to make drawings
• Write installation scope documents
• Support on-site construction and installation efforts
• Support checkout and start-up activities
• Teach and guide team members as needed
• Conduct on-site surveys to find out what's already there
• Go to sites as needed (about 25% of the time)

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent technical experience
• Over 7 years of experience with industrial HVAC and utility systems (steam, chilled water, hot water, compressed air, CO2, refrigeration, etc.)
• Previous experience in package development including scope of work, P&IDs, and mechanical equipment arrangements
• Process and utility system piping and ductwork design
• Developing equipment specifications
• Determining code compliance for new and existing systems
