POSITION SUMMARY
Performs maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems. Installs and repairs heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Installs new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Performs a variety of complicated tasks
- May lead and direct the work of others
- Typically reports to a supervisor or manager
- Work with technicians on maintenance and service work
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Generally required knowledge includes basic knowledge of HVAC and general maintenance.
- Not required but welcomed knowledge includes HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
- Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent BJU in an ethical and professional manner.
- Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
- Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical Building Automation equipment on a job site.
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Professional in appearance and presentation.
- Effective in oral and written communication.
- A learning spirit that humble and seeks help willing.
- Is purpose driven and has a plan for after grad school.
- Has Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Any HVAC related certificates or licenses are welcome but not required.

- Drive a motorized vehicle
- Work around machines
- Work above floor level
- Exposed to dust, fumes, gases
- Exposed to marked changes in temperature
- Work outdoors in varying weather
- Frequent head and neck rotations

Required Education
- Bachelors;
- Must be enrolled in post-graduate studies at BJU.
