Responsibilities
- Maintain ammonia refrigeration system, including building heating and air conditioning equipment, boiler systems, hot water generator, compressed air systems, building sprinkler systems, and other supporting equipment as directed.
- Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) and repairs on compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, vessels, valves, and other ammonia refrigeration machinery.
- Collaborate with refrigeration contractors, electricians, and pipefitters to ensure compliance with company safety policies and work standards.
- Ensure continuous operation of facility utility systems and peripheral equipment to support production schedules and facility conditions.
- Coordinate internal and external resources for facility maintenance.
- Assist with recordkeeping and training for Process Safety Management/Risk (PSM/RMP) compliance with state and federal guidelines.
- Provide technical analysis and real-time data on refrigeration and operational equipment status.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing systems.
- Use drawings, technical records, and vendor diagrams to complete PM documents for machine overhauls and repairs.
- Handle maintenance emergencies as required.
- Adhere to quality assurance, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety programs, and government codes and regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including equipment cleaning, floor maintenance, and trash removal.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, or Engineering.
Requirements
- Must have own toolbox and tools (to be kept in the maintenance shop).
- Trade school diploma in HVAC-R (minimum requirement).
- Ammonia Operator I certification (minimum requirement); Ammonia Operator II certification (preferred).
- 2+ years of hands-on experience (preferred).
- Experience in refrigeration system repair, pipefitting, welding, and system analysis.
- Proficient in reading diagrams and schematics.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and company ERP & CMMS software.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English (Spanish-speaking is a plus).

Schedule
Full time, with on-call availability for emergencies.
