General Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair university HVAC systems and related components.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance, cleaning, and repairs that require a sub-contractor.
- Respond to employee, student, and guest complaints/requests with courtesy and service.
- Work independently, accountably, and authoritatively on assigned tasks.
- Document repairs and complete all work orders, repairs, and preventative maintenance requests as assigned.
- Perform basic maintenance/repairs to lighting/electrical systems.
- Notify proper parties of injuries and accidents immediately.
- Maintain records and submit basic reports.
- Ensure the integrity, effectiveness, and efficiency of the Facilities Department.
- Communicate effectively with the Facilities Staff and Management.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in related field.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations related to HVAC systems.
- Certified in Instrumentation & Controls for HVAC systems.
- CFC Universal Certification (EPA 608).
- NYC Certificate of Qualification for Refrigeration Operating Engineer (Q-01).
- Certificate of Fitness for Citywide Sprinkler Systems (S-12)/Certificate of Fitness for Citywide Standpipe Systems (S-13) preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
