HVAC Technian – JLL Important Notice: This position requires work with chemical, radiological, or biological agents that may be hazardous to health if mishandled (including agents which may potentially affect reproduction or the fetus). What this job involves: As a System Technician in Maintenance & Operations, you'll be an essential member of our facilities team, maintaining critical building systems that support scientific research and manufacturing operations. This hands-on role involves operating, monitoring, and maintaining HVAC systems, refrigeration equipment, specialty water systems, and laboratory safety devices to ensure optimal environmental conditions for our client's operations. You'll work independently and collaboratively to prevent equipment failures, conduct preventive maintenance, and respond to system needs while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and operational standards. What your day-to-day will look like: Operate and maintain building air handling units, refrigeration machinery, HVAC equipment, and auxiliary systems including vacuum, heating/cooling, ventilation, fume hoods, bio-safety cabinets, water systems, compressed air, and specialty water systems (DI, RO, WFI)Monitor and adjust valves, switches, recorders, charts, indicators, and thermometers to maintain proper temperature, pressure, humidity, and other operating conditions necessary to meet client specificationsConduct testing and documentation for fume hood and exhaust lab device certifications according to site standards, maintaining detailed logs and records of conditions throughout assigned areasTroubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment failures, performing necessary adjustments, replacements, or teardowns to prevent disruption to scientific media, research, or manufacturing processesInstall, monitor, and maintain building automation systems with minimal supervision while working in a team-based environmentOverhaul and install equipment as required, including replacement of fan motors on HVAC equipment, and provide guidance to others assisting with operations and maintenance workUtilize computer programs/systems for documentation, work order management, and system monitoring while ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, SOPs, and work instructions Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalentUniversal Refrigerant Recovery License (EPA certification)Valid driver's licenseProficiency in computer programs and systems for documentation and monitoringPhysical ability to lift, bend, move, and work at heights to perform job tasks safely, including operation of required hand/power tools and test instrumentationWorking knowledge of applicable codes and regulations related to HVAC, refrigeration, and building mechanical systemsAbility to work in varied environmental conditions including maintenance shops, plant facilities, and outdoor settings in all weather conditions Preferred Qualifications: Experience with building automation systems installation, monitoring, and troubleshootingFamiliarity with specialty water systems (DI, RO, WFI) used in laboratory and manufacturing environmentsPrior experience working in pharmaceutical, biotech, or research facility environmentsKnowledge of fume hood and bio-safety cabinet testing and certification proceduresExperience with preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)Mechanical aptitude with ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals Location: LVL Site (Onsite) Work Shift: Second Shift – Monday through Friday Salary: $48.16 per hour
