HVAC Technician

Job Summary

As an HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment for commercial HVAC systems at facilities by conducting proactive performance testing and ongoing scheduled maintenance. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, repair, adjust, and maintain small electric or pneumatic control systems used for building, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment.
• Conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine best course of action for equipment modifications.
• Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion.
• Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.
• Participate in small operations meetings and complete daily work order assignments.
• Gather tools and parts and carry out preventative and corrective maintenance tasks.

Preferred Skills

• Commercial HVAC experience
• CMMs (Computerized Maintenance Management System) experience
• EPA license

Required Experience

• 2–3 years of HVAC maintenance experience
• 1–2 years of job-related experience (per role requirements)

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Candidate will be working in an industrial park environment, including office buildings, warehouses, and laboratories
• Candidate will work with a team but will have individual work orders to fulfill
• Must meet physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more
• Overtime may be required
