HVAC Technician

About the role

Perform preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial HVAC systems. Service and maintain equipment including air-cooled and centrifugal chillers greater than 1000 tons, fan coil systems, ductless split systems, split AC units, swamp coolers, and refrigeration units.

• Respond to service calls and support rapid-response maintenance requirements.
• Conduct facility walkthroughs, inspections, and equipment/system monitoring.
• Identify equipment deficiencies and recommend repairs or operational improvements.
• Troubleshoot and repair facility mechanical and building systems.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for covered equipment repairs, calibration, and preventative maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate equipment logs, maintenance documentation, and service records.
• Recommend spare parts inventory and supply purchases for facility equipment.
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with environmental, health, safety, and fire protection requirements.
• Support emergency maintenance response and participate in on-call or standby rotations as required.
• Assist with training and onboarding of newly hired HVAC technicians.
• Maintain professional communication with customers, team members, and facility personnel.

Requirements

• Mechanical Journeyman License (required)
• 30-Hour OSHA Certification (required)
• EPA refrigerant handling certification (required)
• 5+ years of experience in industrial or large commercial HVAC environments
• Valid driver’s license
• Working knowledge of boiler and steam systems operations

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting facilities greater than 20,000 square feet
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems within large facilities
• Proficiency with computers and mobile technology tools
