About the role
Perform preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial HVAC systems. Service and maintain equipment including air-cooled and centrifugal chillers greater than 1000 tons, fan coil systems, ductless split systems, split AC units, swamp coolers, and refrigeration units.
- Respond to service calls and support rapid-response maintenance requirements.
- Conduct facility walkthroughs, inspections, and equipment/system monitoring.
- Identify equipment deficiencies and recommend repairs or operational improvements.
- Troubleshoot and repair facility mechanical and building systems.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for covered equipment repairs, calibration, and preventative maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate equipment logs, maintenance documentation, and service records.
- Recommend spare parts inventory and supply purchases for facility equipment.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with environmental, health, safety, and fire protection requirements.
- Support emergency maintenance response and participate in on-call or standby rotations as required.
- Assist with training and onboarding of newly hired HVAC technicians.
- Maintain professional communication with customers, team members, and facility personnel.
Requirements
- Mechanical Journeyman License (required)
- 30-Hour OSHA Certification (required)
- EPA refrigerant handling certification (required)
- 5+ years of experience in industrial or large commercial HVAC environments
- Valid driver’s license
- Working knowledge of boiler and steam systems operations
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting facilities greater than 20,000 square feet
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems within large facilities
- Proficiency with computers and mobile technology tools
