HVAC Team Lead
Job Summary
The HVAC Team Lead is responsible for leading a team of HVAC technicians to maintain all base HVAC and associated building automation systems. This position reports to the O&M Manager and is responsible for all HVAC maintenance on base. This is a working lead position where the individual will be expected to perform field duties as needed in addition to supervisory responsibilities.
Job Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of International Mechanical Code requirements.
- Ability to read blueprints, manuals, and construction drawings.
- Knowledge and experience working with voltages up to 480 V.
- Prepares estimates, man hours, materials used and orders items needed for job completion or inventory replacement per established procedures.
- Follows all policy, procedures and service standards and complies with all current related safety and health requirements.
- Manages all scheduling, execution, and reporting of all maintenance and repairs to electrical generation, distribution, systems, and equipment on the base.
- Develops Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assists with document control as it relates to field and tool implementation.
- Provides excellent customer service in supporting contract responsibilities.
- Documents work in the computerized maintenance management system, CMMS.
- Schedules, assigns, and ensures timely completion of daily tasks, work orders, and service calls to maintain contract compliance.
- Maintains adherence to Amentum safety requirements.
- Conducts quality control inspections to ensure satisfactory work completion.
- Maintains proper maintenance of equipment and tools.
- Develops lists of equipment and tools that need to be purchased to maximize productivity of the department.
- Works with procurement department to procure all materials, equipment, and tools to complete work.
- Installs, services, and repairs environmental control systems in residences, office buildings, and other commercial establishments.
- Utilizes knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting and structural layout, mounts compressor and condenser units on platform or floor, using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications.
- Required to be available to respond to after hours issues as per the on-call schedule.
Minimum Requirements
- Journeyman HVAC license.
- Universal CFC certification.
- A minimum of three (3) years previous experience managing a team of HVAC Technicians.
- Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organizing skills to coordinate project activities with contractors and government representatives, conduct fact-finding for special projects, and respond timely to government inquiries.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules and under pressure of deadlines while maintaining performance standards.
- Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office products.
