HVAC Systems Controls Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide quality assurance reviews of Mechanical Systems and Building Automation Systems, giving feedback on potential problems or improvements.
• Confirm that designs meet current code requirements.
• Identify errors/mistakes and redraw items correctly.
• Improve the level of detail and accuracy of plans and specifications.
• Coordinate with other disciplines (MEPFP, architecture, structural, etc.) for technical/QC correspondence, emails, and calculations.
• Improve the HVAC BAS library and specifications to fix common errors.
• Collaborate with the team to find the best ways to improve processes.
• Lead QC fundamental/overview training to keep staff updated on procedures.
• Meet with design teams to review comments.
• Create HVAC templates for general use and add systems to the BAS library.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience.
• PE License.
• Functional working knowledge of M/E/P/FP, building automation systems, system design, and construction processes.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam.
• Experience in designing Healthcare, Commercial, Higher Education, or Laboratory projects.
• Prior experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC system integration, Building Management Systems, and Air/Water Testing and Balancing disciplines is a plus.

Pay

Salary range for 10-15 years of experience: $110,000–$160,000.
