HVAC Systems Control Specialist

BR+A provides state-of-the-art integrated and coordinated mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection consulting engineering, technology systems design, sustainability consulting, lighting design, and building commissioning services. BR+A is looking for a skilled HVAC Systems Control Specialist in our Boston, MA office.
Essential Functions
- Providing quality assurance reviews of Mechanical Systems and Building Automation Systems as well as giving feedback on potential problems or improvements
- Confirming that designs meet current code requirements
- Identifying any errors/mistakes and redrawing items correctly
- Improving the level of detail and accuracy of the plans and specs
- Collaborating with other disciplines (mepfp, arch, struct., etc) for technical/QC correspondence, emails, and calculations
- Improving the HVAC BAS library and specs to fix common errors
- Collaborating with team to find best way to improve processes
- Leading QC fundamental/overview training to keep staff up to date on procedures
- Meting with the design teams to review comments
- Creating HVAC templates for general use and adding systems to the BAS library
Essential Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Functional working knowledge of M/E/P/FP, building automation systems as well as system design and construction processes
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam
- Experience in designing Healthcare, Commercial, Higher Education or Laboratory projects
- Prior experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC system integration, Building Management Systems, and Air/Water Testing and Balancing disciplines is a plus
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Excellent Organizational and Communication skills
- Proactive and Collaborative team member
- Minimum of 10-15 yrs of relevant experience
- PE License

Pay
Salary Range for 10-15 years of experience: $110,000-$160,000
