About the role
HVAC Superintendent is responsible for maintaining an open, positive, and professional line of communication with customers, vendors, general contractors, internal customers, and trade partners. The HVAC Superintendent supervises employees and maintains a safe working environment compliant with government regulatory guidelines and RMC Safety systems on multiple projects simultaneously. This position requires travel.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the work site is compliant with OSHA regulations and Corvant Safety protocols
- Manage and schedule installation of HVAC material and equipment
- Maintain consistent contact with General Contractors to be aware at all times of expected installation dates
- Request and coordinate HVAC material and equipment needs with the purchasing department
- Coordinate delivery of material and equipment to the job site
- Check options and equipment list to ensure material is correct
- Keep project status up to date to ensure timely delivery
- Lay out crews to install material on scheduled dates
- Attend and participate in GC meetings
- Conduct weekly inspections and safety meetings
- Provide copies of signed safety forms to General Contractor and Corvant Safety team
- Walk the job constantly to follow up with Foreman and installers
- Schedule and direct quality control technician daily, communicate with technician constantly to maintain schedule
- Identify problems that need to be corrected
- Follow up on all purchase orders and/or extra work
- Maintain open and positive communication with Trade Partners
- Manage subcontractors, ensure work done meets contract and company requirements
- Keep up to date with all RMC Policy and Procedures, industry standards and government regulations
- Available via telephone after hours and on weekends for emergency and/or customer-related issues
Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- OSHA 30 Certification required
- 10 plus years of experience required
Skills
- Demonstrate proficiency and knowledge of air duct distribution systems, commercial and industrial
- Know relevant building codes, current legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures for the installation and maintenance of systems
- Installation of HVAC materials, equipment, and appropriately matched systems
- Ability to work cooperatively with other trades
- Team-building skills

- Effective verbal, presentation, and listening communication skills
- Effective negotiation and mediation skills
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365 suite and custom accounting software
