HVAC Service Technician II/III

In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. Responsibilities increase based on exposure to tasks, troubleshooting skill development, and consistent completion of assignments. Equipment serviced includes large and small rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and boilers.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts, and proper lubrication
• Repair and replace defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes
• Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks
• Perform warranty service application by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of HVAC equipment and components
• Direct Level I technicians through hands-on demonstrations of troubleshooting and repair steps
• Introduce centrifugal rebuilds from Lead and Level III technicians
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other required articles in a timely manner
• Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call
• Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off-site learning modules, and Daikin Learning; maintain all required certifications and develop new skill sets
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
• Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures
• Tech III: Lead the rebuild and retrofit of commercial HVAC equipment; direct technician Levels I and II through hands-on demonstration of necessary steps and introduce centrifugal rebuilds

Requirements

• Service Tech II: 3+ years related experience with increasing responsibility or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Service Tech III: 5+ years related experience with increasing responsibility; or 7+ years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
• Rotational Emergency Call Support as required
• Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
• Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications

• Commercial HVAC Industry Experience
• EPA approved Universal Technician Certification
• OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (provided during onboarding)
• Current first aid / CPR card

Pay

• Service Technician II: $27.60 - $44.29 per hour in TX
• Service Technician III: $31.60 - $50.37 per hour in TX

Individual base pay depends on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Schedule

Full-time, onsite in Amarillo, TX or Lubbock, TX.
