Position Summary

The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, accurate documentation, and effective communication with both customers and internal personnel.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair:
  • Air-cooled chillers
  • Water-cooled chillers
  • Cooling towers
  • Pumps
  • Boilers
  • Air handling units (AHUs)
  • Split systems
  • Packaged HVAC equipment
• Evaluate equipment performance and provide recommendations regarding repair or replacement options
• Identify required replacement components and obtain manufacturer-approved repair information
• Explain technical findings and recommended solutions clearly to customers and team members
• Take part in the company's rotating emergency service schedule
• Maintain assigned company vehicle, tools, and stocked inventory in a clean and professional condition
• Complete all service-related records using company software systems, including:
  • Labor and time entries
  • Service details and resolution codes
  • Equipment information
  • Customer approval signatures
• Maintain regular communication with the Service Manager and Service Coordinator
• Utilize tablets, iPads, and computer-based programs to document work performed and service results

Requirements

• At least three years of commercial HVAC service experience with verifiable references
• Strong background in troubleshooting and servicing commercial and industrial HVAC equipment
• Demonstrated ability to determine when equipment should be repaired versus replaced
• Excellent customer service and professional communication skills
• Ability to take ownership of responsibilities and provide leadership when situations require it
• EPA Universal Certification (required)
• Ability and willingness to travel as needed for service calls
• Professional appearance and positive attitude
• Capable of working independently with limited supervision
• Strong written documentation skills and attention to detail
• Effective verbal communication and reporting abilities

Pay

Compensation $35.00 - $50.00 per hour. Compensation is determined by experience, qualifications, technical ability, and overall job performance.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a one-hour lunch break. Participation in a rotating emergency on-call program and occasional evening and weekend work to support customer needs.
