HVAC Service Tech III (Dayton, OH)

About the role

Responsible for daily service work. The Service Technician will work on HVAC heating, cooling, boiler, chiller, and refrigeration systems. Responsibilities include reading and understanding blueprints, communicating effectively with all parties, and representing TP Mechanical Contractors in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and solve HVAC rooftop units, make‑up air, boiler, chiller, and control system problems.
• VRF system knowledge is a plus.
• Follow up with customers for quality assurance and ensure 100% satisfaction.
• Act as senior technical support for other service technicians, answering most technical questions and helping with almost any issue.
• Attend job site and office meetings related to assigned projects when needed.
• Be dependable and able to work in emergency situations when called.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 8‑10 years of commercial experience in plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration.
• Stable work history.
• HVAC license for KY regions only.
• EPA or Universal License.
• HVAC chiller and boiler certifications are a plus.

Skills

• Ability to read blueprints.
• HVAC and refrigeration repair and installation.
• Working knowledge of all hand and power tools.
• Able to use specialty tools including Recovery Machine, Multi Meter, Combustion Analysis.
• Control experience a plus.
• Able to install equipment.
• Very strong technical background.
• Works within precise limits or standards of accuracy and productivity.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Ability to manage, lead, motivate, and discipline.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Education

• High School or GED equivalent.
• Trade school a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Eyesight correctable to 20/50.
• Able to work long hours on feet.
• Able to lift and climb ladders and scaffolds.
• Able to perform shift work.
• Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 60 lbs.
• Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must not be afraid of heights.

Special Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Must provide own basic hand tools.
• OSHA 10 Construction Industry.
