HVAC Service Apprentice
About the role
Lennox National Account Services (NAS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Lennox International, is a major national player in commercial HVAC maintenance and service with 100+ offices across the continental United States. Over the next five years, NAS plans to double branch offices and significantly increase annual revenue, creating opportunities for motivated individuals to grow and learn alongside the organization.
Responsibilities
- Assist with on-site preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration after installation.
- Use technical abilities to maintain commercial HVAC systems.
- Work in a team-based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Perform all duties in a safe manner and ensure adherence to safety measures at all times.
- Complete required paperwork and self-schedule tasks within time constraints.
- Work independently with minimal supervision; be self-motivated to complete assigned tasks.
- Occasionally work weekends and nights; be willing to relocate elsewhere in the country after training.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- HVAC trade school graduate strongly preferred, achieving a 3.5 GPA and excellent attendance.
- 1+ years in a mechanical support role; some hands-on HVAC experience preferred.
- EPA Certification—Type I & Type II or Universal.
- NATE certification a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 90 pounds.
- Technical aptitude to perform maintenance, service, and troubleshoot equipment.
- Good customer service skills and strong electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills.
- Availability for weekend and night work occasionally.
Physical Requirements
- Install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on commercial rooftop HVAC units independently.
- Access rooftops via fixed or extension ladders and work at heights.
- Load and unload tools and equipment from a work van.
- Lift up to 75 lbs; lift to shoulder and overhead up to 25 lbs; push/pull wheeled carts up to 150 lbs.
- Climb ladders to roof height and extend reach overhead in repetitive motions.
- Perform manual tandem lifting up to 125 lbs.

Pay
This is an hourly non-exempt role with a salary range of $33,000–$41,000 annually. Starting salary may vary by geography, market, tenure, performance, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications. Overtime is available when working more than 40 hours in a week or as otherwise required by state law; employees in this role are not eligible for a bonus.
Schedule
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends required.
- Occasional weekend and night work.
- Willingness to relocate elsewhere in the country after training.
- Local travel may be required.
