HVAC/Refrigeration Instructor

Berks Career & Technology Center (BCTC) is looking for an experienced HVAC professional who is ready to take the knowledge and skills they've built in the field and pass them on to the next generation of technicians. You don't have to be an instructor to apply and we don't expect an experienced HVAC professional to walk into the classroom and know everything about teaching on day one. To apply, you need to know HVAC, enjoy working with young people, and have a desire to make a difference. BCTC will assist you in learning the classroom piece by providing you with support, mentoring and resources to help you make the transition from industry professional to an instructor.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and prepare the next generation of skilled technicians
• Communicate technical concepts effectively
• Establish positive relationships with students and maintain a safe, structured learning environment
• Deliver hands-on, industry-based instruction

Requirements

• Minimum four years of full-time, wage-earning HVAC/Refrigeration experience beyond training
• Pennsylvania Department of Education certification in Heating, Air Conditioning, Ventilation and Refrigeration Maintenance Technology/Technician (CIP 47.0201 – Air Conditioning 2010), or eligibility to obtain certification

Pay

• Guaranteed annual salary increases

Schedule

• Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–3:15 p.m.
• 10‑month work year / 190 days
• No nights, weekends, or on‑call service
