HVAC-R Specialist

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and modify all facility HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Support general facility, mechanical, and minor electrical repair needs.
• Ensure compliance with departmental standards, safety practices, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Formal Apprenticeship, Journeyman License, or HVAC Trade Certification, required.
• Strong technical skills with the ability to diagnose and repair complex HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Demonstrated customer service orientation and responsiveness to service/repair requests.
• Knowledge of mechanical/computer interface systems.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet ARMC insurability requirements.

Education, Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Minimum of (4) four years experience in the maintenance and installation of facility HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Experience with computerized Energy Management Systems, preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited trade school with emphasis in HVAC/R installation and maintenance, preferred.
• Current EPA Certification for refrigerant handling, required.

Physical And Environmental Demands

• Ability to perform repairs both indoors and outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
• Ability to lift and carry items over 75 lbs.
• Ability to work at heights exceeding 20 feet.
