HVAC/R Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Serves, performs maintenance and repairs most DX equipment up to 100 tons, packaged, water-cooled AC units up to 150 tons, water source heat pumps and associated equipment, computer room type units with self-contained humidifiers and controls, gas fired and electric heating systems up to 150 tons, pneumatic, electronic and modular DDC control systems, and air handling equipment including VAV systems.
• Reads gauges and instruments, adjusts mechanisms such as valves, controls, and pumps to control fluid, pressure, and temperature in the system.
• Performs repair of requested equipment by replacing or adjusting defective or worn parts/components to return systems to full operational condition.
• Diagnoses malfunctioning equipment at customer sites, bringing questionable situations with equipment and/or customers to the immediate supervisor's attention.
• Performs site start-up services for newly installed commercial equipment.
• Performs scheduled preventative maintenance services as determined by customer.
• Cleans condenser and evaporator coils, fan and ductwork, and installs wiring to connect components to electric power source.
• Inspects, adjusts, and replaces fan belts on motors.
• Installs wiring to connect components to electric power source.

Qualifications

• High School or Trade School Graduate or GED.
• Holds a Universal Refrigerant Card (Type I or Universal).
• At least 10 years of commercial experience.
• Maintains regular and acceptable attendance.
• Maintains a flexible working schedule, including on-call rotation for stand-by emergency service per rotation schedule.
• Works weekends.
• Ensures appearance is clean and neat at all times.
• Maintains truck and all equipment in a clean condition.
• Adheres to safety rules and regulations, including courteous and defensive driving.
• Maintains company tools in accordance with company policies and procedures.
