About the role

As an HVAC - Mechanical Engineer at Cushing Terrell, you will be responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in various projects. You will work closely with architects, engineers, and construction teams to ensure that all systems meet the client's needs and comply with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Designing HVAC systems for new buildings and renovations
  • Collaborating with project teams to ensure system integration and compliance with codes and standards
  • Performing site visits to assess existing systems and provide recommendations for improvements
  • Preparing detailed specifications and drawings for contractors
  • Assisting with commissioning and testing of installed systems
  • Maintaining relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure availability of necessary parts and services

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Knowledge of HVAC design principles and best practices
  • Experience with building automation systems and controls
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • Experience with energy-efficient HVAC systems
  • Knowledge of green building practices and LEED certification

Skills

  • Proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
