HVAC Mechanic I
About the role
The HVAC Mechanic I position at OSF HealthCare involves performing routine maintenance, diagnostics, and basic repairs on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. This role also assists with system installations, supports Building Automation System (BAS) monitoring and data updates, and contributes to the maintenance of life safety and medical gas-related infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine maintenance, diagnostics, and basic repairs on HVAC systems.
- Aids in system installations.
- Serves as a support for Building Automation System (BAS) monitoring and data updates.
- Maintains life safety and medical gas-related infrastructure.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED.
- 3 years of experience in HVAC service, mechanical trades, building maintenance, or related technical work.
- Licensed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with Section 608 Type I Certification within 6 months of hire.
- Valid driver's license.
Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
- Broad analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of refrigeration, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Prior experience with air handling equipment, thermostats, or BAS environments.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Pay
The expected pay range for this position is $25.10 - $29.54 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity.

This is an Hourly position.
