HVAC Mechanic

About the role

Westminster Canterbury of Lynchburg, a 5-Star rated Continuing Care Retirement Community in Central VA is seeking an HVAC Mechanic to join our team! Full-time position available with complete benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Paid Time Off, 403B with company match, and more.

Schedule

Hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30AM to 4:00PM and may require some on-call weekend as needed.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing HVAC, refrigeration, and related mechanical equipment throughout the organization.
• Performing preventive maintenance, monitoring equipment operation and environmental conditions, maintaining required refrigerant-related documentation and permits.
• Monitoring, maintaining, and servicing HVAC and related equipment.
• Monitoring and maintaining conditions of all HVAC equipment.
• Working closely with contractors when servicing contract on major HVAC equipment.
• Performing preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment.
• Checking and controlling refrigerant levels in AC equipment at the cottages.
• Replacing air filters in all fan equipment.
• Monitoring bearings and belts in all fan equipment.
• Aiding in maintaining inventory of related supplies.
• Maintaining environmental permit for servicing refrigerants.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent degree
• Virginia Journeyman Tradesman License – HVAC required
• Knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation, and related mechanical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot HVAC and related systems and identify appropriate corrective actions.
• Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, operating instructions, maintenance schedules, and basic technical documentation.
• Commitment to infection control best practices; must receive influenza vaccine and recommended COVID-19 vaccine.
