Responsibilities

  • Performs installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
  • Maintains the efficiency, reliability, and safety of operation of systems by checking performance, diagnosing problems, and making necessary repairs or adjustments.
  • Checks elements such as pressure, temperature, and running time of various mechanisms.
  • Repairs or replaces fans, pumps, thermostats, humidistats, motors, compressors, valves, gauges, pneumatic and electric controls, filters, and other related elements.
  • Installs refrigeration and air conditioning systems by positioning compressors, motors, condensers, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, evaporators, heaters, and other components.
  • Installs and connects auxiliary control mechanisms and piping or tubing.
  • Connects recording and gauging devices. Charges refrigeration systems and tests installation for leaks.
  • Starts unit and adjusts it for proper operation and optimum performance.

Requirements

  • 4+ years’ Experience as HVAC Mechanic in light commercial or heavy industrial.
  • EPA Universal Certification received from an approved certifying program.
  • Valid State Driver's License.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret standard blueprints and operating manuals.
  • Ability to perform regular and recurring inspections or surveys.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and a thorough background check for access onto a military installation.

  • Strong working knowledge of commercial and industrial air conditioning systems.
  • Understanding of the 40 CFR 82 and adherence to all guidelines and procedures pertaining to the use and handling of refrigerants.
  • Collaborative working style with a team.
  • Decorum and professionalism when interacting with servicemembers in uniform.
