HVAC Jr. Mechanic

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

• Aid experienced technicians in installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Use a variety of hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units.
• Analyze, diagnose, and repair systems and products at customer's location.
• Perform preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacements, and modifications as needed or requested by customers.
• Prepare for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layouts, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating on-site work, as necessary.
• Inspect vehicles by checking their condition and cleanliness.
• Maintain vehicles by keeping records of service, scheduling, and completing repairs and maintenance services.
• Inspect equipment for signs of wear and notify customers and/or Operations Manager of findings.
• Document work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining files.
• Represent the company by serving as a direct customer contact.
• Determine parts to order for repairs and the timeliness of need.
• Document work by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, progress, and duration; and maintain files.
• Record parts, material, labor, subs, and other cost data per assignment and return unused resources.
• Turn in all required paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
• Stay current on all products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair.
• Read and interpret product specifications.
• Provide technical support to customers.

Qualifications

• A strong willingness to learn and a positive attitude are crucial.
• Flexibility to work overtime/weekends as necessary.
• Regular travel requirements with some overnight travel, as needed.
