HVAC Jr Mechanic

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

• Aid experienced technicians in installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Use a variety of hand-tools to diagnose and repair HVAC units according to blueprints or engineering specifications.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve system and product issues at customer sites.
• Perform preventative maintenance, conduct site surveys, replace components, and make modifications as needed.
• Prepare for installations and repairs by examining building layouts, anticipating challenges, gathering materials, and coordinating on-site work.
• Inspect vehicles for condition and cleanliness, and maintain them by keeping records of service, scheduling, and completing repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Notify customers and/or Operations Managers of any equipment issues found during inspections.
• Document work by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, progress, and duration, and maintaining files.
• Represent the company by interacting directly with customers.
• Determine necessary parts for repairs and ensure they are ordered promptly.
• Record costs related to parts, materials, labor, subcontractors, and other expenses per assignment and return unused resources.
• Submit all required paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
• Stay updated on all relevant products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair.
• Provide technical support to customers as needed.

Qualifications

• A strong willingness to learn and maintain a positive attitude.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
• Regular travel requirements with some overnight travel, as needed.
