Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality instruction in HVACR technology across various instructional formats and locations.
- Support student learning and success by developing and maintaining curriculum aligned with industry standards and workforce needs.
- Teach residential, commercial, and industrial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) systems; system installation, design, and maintenance; electrical components and controls; airflow distribution and psychometrics; refrigerant handling and piping systems; and troubleshooting and repair techniques.
- Integrate safety standards, energy efficiency principles, sustainability practices, and emerging technologies relevant to the HVACR industry.
- Read and interpret technical documents such as safety regulations, HVACR codes, blueprints, and installation manuals.
- Document student progress, maintain accurate records, and utilize instructional technologies and tools relevant to the trade.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure a high-quality educational experience for a diverse student population while adhering to the College's mission, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in HVACR technology or related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in HVACR technology, including teaching and/or hands-on experience.
- Valid state HVAC license or ability to obtain within one year of employment.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as safety regulations, HVACR codes, blueprints, and installation manuals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using instructional technologies and tools relevant to the trade.
Pay
The salary for this position is based on the full-time faculty salary schedule.
Schedule
Hours of instruction are primarily afternoons and evenings, Monday through Thursday, and all day Friday. Morning work hours may be required occasionally.
