Responsibilities
- Daily operational inspections of HVAC systems throughout the resort
- Routine & preventive maintenance of HVAC systems
- System evaluations and assessment of major repairs needed to HVAC systems
- Closely work with department leadership to assess major repairs needed to HVAC systems
- Carry relevant certifications and have experience operating other equipment, including mechanical, electrical, life safety and electrical
Qualifications
- High School diploma; college and/or Building & Mechanical certifications are preferred
- At least 5 years of experience in full-service hotel or resort
- Read, write, speak and understand English fluently
- Strong technical skills in HVAC systems
- Familiar with chillers, cooling towers, chemical treatments, pneumatics, control systems, water systems, boilers, refrigeration, compressors, etc.
- Universal CFC certification preferred
- Additional certification in one or more of the following: Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC and Refrigeration systems
- Certifications/licenses as required by local or state jurisdictions
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft office and Engineering related software programs

- QUALITY: Maintain physical product standards by routinely inspecting the entire hotel to ensure that all F.F.&E. is in proper working condition and departmental supplies are stocked at proper levels. Complete work orders on time and within budget. Justify request for capital projects using ROI and/or the needs of the business as impacted by the department. Maintain cost-effective preventative maintenance program. Maintain accurate filed for all inspections, licenses and contracts. Manage security procedures and proper key control. Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
Essential Functions
- Communicate with Director of Engineering regarding all aspects of engineering operations
- Inspect and document physical plant, equipment, hazards, systems, and general engineering operation
- Maintain work areas clean and organized
- Report and resolve all unsafe conditions immediately
- Complete other duties assigned by supervisor
- Inspect and adjust all systems on a daily basis, respond to life system alarms
- Maintain and repair air handlers, chillers, condenser, evaporator, ice machines, related HVAC equipment, washers, dryers, ironers, electrical components, switch gears, panels, pneumatic controls and components for VAV boxes, thermostats, compressors, valves and actuators, motor controls, etc.
- Maintain and repair all food and beverage, laundry and back of house physical plant to include cosmetic and hard equipment to meet manufacturer’s specifications

- STANDING/WALKING: Frequently. Stairs, tile, rubber mats covering tile, linoleum, concrete, padded carpet, marble, gravel, etc.
- CROUCHING (BEND AT KNEES): Occasionally. Lifting, completing tasks performed at low levels, putting supplies and materials away.
- KNEELING/CRAWLING: Frequently. Performing plumbing repairs, carpet repairs, follow-up on projects.
- STOOPING (BEND AT WAIST): Frequently. Reading gauges and meters, lifting light objects, putting supplies and equipment away.
- TWISTING (KNEES/WAIST/NECK): Frequently. Performing electrical, plumbing and other repairs.
- CLIMBING: Frequently. Ladders, step stools, stairs.
- BALANCING: Frequently. Climbing ladders, scaffolding, stairs, carrying tools and equipment.
- LEG/FOOT USE: Rarely. Reaching overhead/extension: Frequently. Performing repairs, retrieving supplies and materials, updating shop board.
- HANDLING/GRASPING: Frequently. Tools, power tools, materials, turning nozzles, turning faucets, etc.
- FINGERING/FEELING: Occasionally. Performing repairs.
- PUSHING/PULLING: Frequently. Average weight: 5 - 100 lbs; Occasionally. Maximum weight: Equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
- LIFTING/CARRYING: Frequently. Average weight: 5 - 50 lbs; Occasionally. Maximum weight: Equipment weighing up to 150 lbs.
