HVAC Design-Build Estimating Professional

About the role

Sun Glow Inc. is expanding its commercial HVAC division and seeks an experienced HVAC professional to lead design-build projects from concept through completion. This role offers the opportunity to shape commercial HVAC solutions, build customer relationships, and contribute to the continued growth of a trusted Portland-area company with over 50 years in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop new commercial HVAC opportunities with contractors, builders, and business owners
• Design practical, energy-efficient HVAC solutions for commercial projects
• Review plans, specifications, and project requirements
• Perform site evaluations and gather field information
• Create equipment selections, conceptual layouts, and system designs using industry software
• Prepare accurate proposals, budgets, and bid packages
• Work with manufacturers and suppliers to secure competitive pricing
• Collaborate with operations and field teams to ensure a smooth transition from estimating through project completion

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial HVAC estimating experience
• 3+ years of commercial HVAC design or project engineering experience
• Experience preparing competitive commercial bid proposals
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, equipment, and installation practices
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Revit, or similar software
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and mechanical plans
• Experience with load calculations, equipment sizing, duct design, and mechanical codes
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills
• Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
