About the role
The HVAC Controls Technician II position is critical to ensuring our customers receive top-notch service through the installation, programming, and service of commercial digital control systems. This role supports the maintenance of building automation systems, performs service requests, and provides technical support.
Responsibilities
- Provide responsive and professional customer service with the goal of building and maintaining long-term customer relationships
- Identify, analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot direct digital control systems
- Perform preventative maintenance, commissioning, and replacement modifications as needed or requested by customers
- Maintain building automation systems by inspecting trend logs, reports, schedules, applications, hardware, and programming
- Provide controls technical support to HVAC technicians
- Create and/or implement programming and graphics for new installations and retrofit projects
- Commission controls installations and verify that control sequences meet scope, design, or specifications
- Provide training and follow-ups for customers and operations personnel
- Complete work orders and review with customers for accuracy
- Continually look for ways to improve our processes and ability to serve our customers effectively
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift 50lbs with or without accommodation
Qualifications
- Experience in BAS, HVAC, or related industry
- Proficiency with test instruments and calibration tools
- Competency in operation of engineering/commissioning tools, DDC controllers and field devices, BACnet protocol fundamentals
- Competency in the operation of HVAC equipment and controls
- Ability to understand written sequences of operation
- Ability to read low voltage wiring diagrams and controls flow diagrams
- Niagara AX and/or Niagara 4 certification
- Experience with common integration protocols such as: BACnet MST / IP, LON, Modbus TCP / RTU, Ethernet OIP, MQTT, or SQL
- Strong computer skills, including computer networking fundamentals
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Customer-focused, results-oriented professional, and strong team player
- Motivated self-starter that demonstrates initiative
- Able to manage multiple priorities and stay organized
- Current first aid / CPR card

Pay
The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $31.60 - $50.37 in MN. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Schedule
Full-time position located in Maple Grove, MN.
