About the role

The Controls Systems Team Leader will oversee a branch systems operation team, assigning projects to Lead Systems Specialists and allocating necessary resources. They will also provide support for complex projects and ensure compliance with legal requirements and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Hires, retains, and develops direct reports
  • Trains and mentors System Technicians and System Designers
  • Facilitates Systems Operations Technical Training (SO TechT)
  • Ensures accurate, timely, and compliant work
  • Adheres to and enforces safety standards
  • Recruits and coordinates with contractors, clients, consultants, and subcontractors
  • Evaluates contractual scope and impacts of client directives
  • Develops schedules of values for complex projects
  • Pre-bids and pre-books projects
  • Pursues additional work through change orders
  • Communicates with sales staff and maintains contractor relationships

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of HVAC proven experience
  • Technical associate degree with 6 years of field experience or 8 years of equivalent related field experience
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial HVAC product lines
  • Relevant technical hands-on experience, including systems design and commissioning of digital HVAC controls systems
  • Ability to communicate technical material to non-technical audiences
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Solid coaching and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of control theory and HVAC systems
  • Project accounting, costing principles, and contracting knowledge

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of a technical associate degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of HVAC proven experience

Pay

Hiring salary range: $89,000 - $134,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role offers a competitive bonus plan based on individual, group, and corporate performance. A competitive benefits package is also provided.
