Overview

The IS Technical Services Building Systems Analyst III (BSA III) is a highly skilled member of the IS Technical Services (TS) team with an engineering background. This role evaluates, verifies, and optimizes the operation of new and existing building systems both on-site or remotely. Key responsibilities include:

  • Documenting, collaborating, and communicating activities, technical issues, and solutions development to the project delivery team and Team Manager.
  • Executing and completing assigned tasks and deliverables in a timely manner.
  • Leading site surveys, documentation review, and due diligence activities to determine facility conditions and develop energy conservation measures.
  • Participating in design and submittal reviews of new construction scope as part of the commissioning process.
  • Utilizing CxAlloy software to document assigned new construction commissioning scopes.
  • Developing and QC pre-functional checklists and functional performance tests in CxAlloy.
  • Developing technical reports and project observations to support solutions development and understanding of progress, system operation, on-site conditions, and other required building information.
  • Implementing energy conservation measures independently or in collaboration with project delivery team partners, such as facilities staff or trade partners, whenever required.
  • Reviewing pre-functional checklists and comparing to actual site conditions when required.
  • Troubleshooting, optimizing, and modifying building system programming when necessary to implement energy conservation measures.
  • Utilizing test instrumentation to troubleshoot, verify, and optimize building system operation.
  • Overseeing and executing functional performance tests as part of the acceptance of construction scope.
  • Providing on-site supervision of trade partners and sub consultants when required.
  • Working with project delivery team partners to ensure implemented energy conservation measures and building system programming are well documented, understood, and archived on-site and in Company storage systems designated for the project.
  • Maintaining awareness of energy performance for assigned scopes throughout the project duration.
  • Collaborating with the project team to ensure performance targets are met and maintained.
  • Identifying, communicating, tracking, assigning to, and addressing issues by the appropriate delivery team members and partners.
  • Proactively addressing and escalating as required, impediments to achieving project outcomes and scope completion with the team manager and director.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field.
  • 7+ years of commissioning or related field experience with mechanical, electrical, building automation systems, programming, or building operation management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Attention to safety.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal or limited information.
  • Self-directed or able to work with limited direction.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Competency with Cloud-based commissioning software platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineering Intern (EI) certification.
  • Commissioning Certification from ACG, BCxA, ASHRAE.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification.
  • Building automation systems design and programming experience.

Travel Requirements

40-60% of time will be spent traveling to job sites/offices.

  • Climbing stairs.
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.

Pay Range

USD $88,380.00 - USD $117,970.00 /Yr.
