Job Description HVAC Controls / Building Automation Systems (BAS) Technician Location: Raleigh, NC Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site/Field Service Pay Range: $35.00-$45.00 (DOE) + Overtime Position Summary We are seeking an experienced HVAC Controls Technician / Building Automation Systems (BAS) Technician to install, program, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize commercial HVAC control systems throughout the Raleigh market. This position is ideal for an HVAC controls professional with strong knowledge of HVAC systems, DDC controls, sensors, actuators, controllers, electrical wiring, and building automation technologies who can independently diagnose system issues and provide effective solutions. Key Responsibilities BAS Installation & Service Install, configure, program, and maintain HVAC/BAS control systemsInstall and service thermostats, sensors, actuators, controllers, and associated field devicesPerform preventative maintenance and system inspectionsUpgrade or replace outdated or malfunctioning controls components Troubleshooting & Programming Diagnose BAS, HVAC controls, electrical, wiring, sensor, and communication issuesUse testing and diagnostic equipment to evaluate system performanceProgram and customize control systems based on building requirementsModify sequences and operating parameters to improve system performanceImplement energy-management strategies to improve HVAC efficiency System Integration Integrate HVAC controls with other building automation systemsTroubleshoot communication between controllers and connected devicesSupport integration with lighting, security, fire alarm, and other building systems as applicable Documentation & Customer Support Maintain accurate installation, programming, and service documentationDocument system configurations and troubleshooting proceduresCommunicate technical findings and recommendations to customersProvide system operation training to building owners and facility personnelCoordinate with technicians, engineers, contractors, and internal teams Qualifications 3+ years of HVAC controls/BAS experience requiredStrong understanding of commercial HVAC systems and operating principlesExperience installing, programming, and troubleshooting HVAC controlsKnowledge of sensors, actuators, controllers, electrical wiring, and communication networksStrong electrical/electronic troubleshooting abilitiesAbility to work independently and solve field problemsStrong communication and customer service skillsValid unrestricted driver's license requiredEPA Certification preferred Schedule Monday–FridayDay shift8-hour shiftsOn-call rotationOvertime opportunitiesOccasional weekend work as needed Compensation & Benefits $70,000–$90,000/year, based on experienceOvertime payMedical insuranceDental and vision insuranceLife insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time offOngoing opportunities to expand BAS and controls expertise Work Authorization Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire.
