About the role

We are a mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP); building automation; and industrial piping contractor. Our team offers a variety of MEP and process piping services, including design-build engineering for new construction and renovation, installation and specialty construction, maintenance, and air balancing, start-up, and energy efficiency services. We are looking for an experienced HVAC Chiller Technician to service, install, and repair HVAC, chiller, and refrigeration equipment for both existing and new accounts in a safe and efficient manner. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, overhauls, major inspections, retrofits, and tear-downs on complex mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong refrigeration background, excellent electrical and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to read schematics and work with Building Management Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Service/install/repair in an efficient and safe manner assigned HVAC, chiller, and refrigeration equipment/duties for existing and new accounts.
  • Working knowledge of all mechanical systems including troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of complex mechanical HVAC equipment.
  • Some working knowledge of PCs, application software, and Building Management Systems.
  • Working knowledge of schematic reading.
  • Perform chiller PMs, troubleshooting/repairs, overhauls, major inspections, retrofits, and tear-downs.
  • Maintain records of work performed and parts/materials used.
  • Utilize company and vendor resources.
  • Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld.
  • Follow schedules and budgets.
  • Wear company uniform and required safety PPE; perform job hazard analysis.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in appearance, verbal, and written communication.
  • Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call.
  • Explain technical information effectively and professionally to technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

  • Strong refrigeration background.
  • Minimum 5 years field experience.
  • Great customer service skills.
  • Good electrical skills.
  • Refrigeration troubleshooting skills.
  • Self-motivated team player.
