HVAC Apprentice - Schooling completed

About the role

New England Mechanical Services, Inc. (NEMSI) is an established mechanical contractor with offices throughout the Northeast. We are currently seeking a Commercial HVAC Service Technician Apprentice for our Gorham, Maine Operations Group. Selected candidate will be responsible for maintenance and repairs at our customers' locations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and operate commercial HVAC systems
• Follow and comply with the rules and regulations of section 608 of the clean air act and occupational safety regulations mandated by federal, state and local governments
• Attend all safety training provided and/or sponsored by NEMSI
• Follow all NEMSI safety policies, procedures, and use personal protective equipment when performing installation and/or servicing HVAC systems
• Interact with the client in a professional and courteous manner while maintaining a clean and neat appearance
• Flexible to work overtime and weekends as demand requires
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the journeyman assigned to

Requirements

• Valid driver's license
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of apprentice schooling required
• Strong work ethic
• Good mechanical skills
• Willingness to learn an exciting trade

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, smell and lift, set-up and climb ladders as well as stairways
• Frequently required to stand and occasionally sit
• Must regularly lift and/or move various weight ranges such as 0-50 lbs. frequently, 51-100 lbs. occasionally and 101 plus seldom
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Maintain a neat and clean appearance and utilize all protective equipment provided and as required
