What You’ll Do
- Overseeing high-voltage electrical construction activities for utility-scale renewable energy projects including solar, BESS, and wind.
- Leading onsite coordination with EPC contractors, electrical subcontractors, utilities, inspectors, and internal project teams.
- Ensuring installation and commissioning of substations, collection systems, transformers, switchgear, and interconnection infrastructure meet engineering designs, codes, and utility requirements.
- Conducting regular site walks and inspections to monitor progress and proactively address field issues.
- Coinciding electrical construction activities with civil, mechanical, and general construction scopes to ensure seamless execution.
- Reviewing work plans, construction methods, schedules, and safety procedures for high-voltage scopes.
- Serving as EPS’s onsite representative while coordinating with utilities, AHJs, EPC partners, and stakeholders.
- Participating in inspections, testing, punch walks, mechanical completion, and project closeout activities.
- Identifying and mitigating project risks while supporting corrective actions and issue resolution in the field.
- Monitoring contractor performance and supporting resolution of RFIs, change orders, and scope clarification.
- Supporting mentorship and development of field teams.
Who you Are
- 5+ years of experience in electrical construction with significant experience in high-voltage systems.
- Strong knowledge of high-voltage electrical infrastructure including substations, collection systems, switchgear, transformers, and interconnection equipment.
- Proven ability to coordinate electrical contractors and manage field operations on large construction projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience using Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, and construction scheduling tools.
- OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% to project sites across the United States.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- PMI (PMP) or CMAA certification.
- Experience with utility-scale renewable energy construction projects.
- Experience working within EPC or EPCM contracting environments.
- Familiarity with electrical commissioning and startup activities.
- Experience with permitting and regulatory compliance processes.
- Familiarity with renewable energy incentive programs such as RETA.
