Vision for the Role: The Grounds Assistant maintains the roads, grounds, and public-facing property of Hume Christian Camps, operating lawn and grounds equipment to keep camp facilities safe, clean, and welcoming for guests and staff. This position performs a variety of landscaping, upkeep, and light equipment-operation duties and must be prepared to meet the spiritual needs of guests. Location: Hume Lake, CA Why Join Us? Be part of a mission-driven, faith-based organization that is dedicated to making a lasting impact on the lives of youth and familiesWith 3 beautiful camp locations, we offer a unique opportunity for year-round camping ministries dedicated to the glory of GodBe a part of something meaningful where your work directly contributes to making memorable experiences and fostering spiritual growthWork in a supportive Christian community in a beautiful environment that values faith, growth, and relationships The Role: Grounds & Facility Maintenance Maintain lawns, gardens, trails, and grounds throughout camp property by mowing, trimming, weeding, watering, and general landscaping upkeepPerform routine upkeep of roads, walkways, and public areas, including litter removal, minor repairs, and seasonal cleanupAssist with snow removal and winter-weather preparedness given Hume Lake’s high-altitude locationReport facility and grounds issues to the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager in a timely manner Equipment Operation & Safety Safely operate lawn and grounds equipment (mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, and similar), tractors, and utility vehicles appropriate to assigned tasksPerform basic cleaning and maintenance of equipment; report malfunctions or needed repairs promptlyFollow all safety procedures, wear required personal protective equipment, and maintain a safe work environment for guests and staffMaintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record to operate camp vehicles and equipment as needed Our Ideal Candidate: Faith Requirement (Essential Qualification) As a Christian ministry, Hume Christian Camps requires that all employees be professing Christians who affirm and live in agreement with the organization’s Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct.
