About the role
Paul Smith’s College is a private, four-year institution with approximately 750 students in both undergraduate and graduate programs. Responsibilities
- Instruct in the humanities, primarily in the areas of history, the arts, culture, anthropology, ethics, media, writing, and related areas.
- Teach courses such as Global History, US History, Ethics, Sociology, Environmental and Social Justice, Anthropology, Wellness and Wildness, Gerontology, Adirondack Fiction, Western and World Music, and other related courses, based on applicant background.
- Assess course material and provide feedback to students.
- Mentor students during office hours.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to improve student learning outcomes.
Requirements
- Experience instructing/researching/writing in the humanities, primarily in the areas of history, the arts, culture, anthropology, ethics, media, writing, and related areas.
- An earned graduate degree in a relevant field.
- College-level teaching experience in Humanities and Social Science subjects.
- Distinguished secondary school teaching experience and appropriate credentials will be considered.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have experience instructing/researching/writing in the humanities, primarily in the areas of history, the arts, culture, anthropology, ethics, media, writing, and related areas. They will have an earned graduate degree in a relevant field and college-level teaching experience in Humanities and Social Science subjects. Distinguished secondary school teaching experience and appropriate credentials will be considered.
