Responsibilities
- Works within the Department of Neurology’s Cerebrovascular and Neurocognitive Research Group (CNRG).
- Research areas include observational studies, clinical trials, and multi-center clinical research studies.
- Recruits, consents, enrolls, and retains study subjects across CNRG portfolio of human subjects' studies.
- Develops and implements subject recruitment and retention strategies.
- Manages and updates registries for subject recruitment.
- Coordinates schedules and conducts research study visits to support study milestones.
- Performs study-related procedures as outlined in the protocol.
- Mentors and trains Human Subject Research Coordinators (HSRC I).
- Trains on federal, state, sponsor, and institutional regulations related to human subject research.
- Serves as the liaison between cross-functional research team, additional research sites, study sponsors, and IRB.
- Manages IRB submissions, including study applications, amendments, and continuing reviews.
- Develops and manages databases for research studies.
- Assists in chart abstraction for the maintenance of patient databases.
- Attends training sessions and participates in educational opportunities related to clinical research.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 2 years of experience in human subject research coordination required.
- Prior experience as Human Subject Research Coordinator I preferred.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of word processing and data analysis software.
- Experience as a Phlebotomist preferred.
