About the Role

Human Services Counseling Adjunct faculty are needed to teach on campus day, evening, weekend, remote synchronous, and/or online classes at the Community College of Baltimore County. Adjunct faculty will be expected to facilitate learning via preparation and delivery of instruction, cooperation with College support staff in timely submission of materials and grades as required, and coordination of activities with the Department Chair and/or Program Coordinator.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfills department and college responsibilities as directed by the Department Chair and/or Program Coordinator.
  • Absides by College wide policies and procedures regarding classroom conduct.
  • Employs a variety of teaching strategies to meet a diverse student population.
  • Adheres to the scheduled time of class.
  • Develops a course syllabus that is in keeping with program and College policies.
  • Safeguards that program specific evaluation methods are administered and completed in a consistent and equitable manner.
  • Safeguards that assessment/evaluation methods are appropriate and effectively assessing the established course objectives.
  • Maintains monitoring of student performance on a regular basis and provides feedback within a reasonable timeframe to students.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Human Services, Counseling, Family Studies, Social Work, or related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in one or more human services counseling setting.
  • Proficient computer skills and Microsoft applications knowledge.
  • Certification or Licensure in Drug and Alcohol Counseling (Preferred).
  • Prior online and/or remote synchronous college teaching experience (Preferred).
  • Experience using classroom technology and learning management systems (Preferred).
  • Two (2) years teaching experience, college teaching experience (Preferred).

Qualifications

  • Parking: Free. Must obtain a parking permit from the Department of Public Safety to use on all campuses.
  • Sick and Safe Leave: CCBC is pleased to offer paid sick and safe leave for part-time employees. Paid sick and safe leave is earned by all part-time employees including credit and non-credit adjunct faculty, part-time associates and other part-time employees.
