Human Resources Representative
Job Purpose
With minimal supervision, provides support to managers/supervisors on employee relations matters including conflict resolution, corrective discipline, performance reviews, new hires, terminations and reductions in force. Conducts investigations. Provides skills training and process training to managers and employees. Counsels employees on issues in the workplace. Exercises discretion and judgment in ER matters, policy interpretation and conflict resolution. Enforces company policy/procedures in accordance with local employment law. May contribute to policy and procedure content. Interacts with different levels of management.
Nature of Duties
- Works on issues of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
- Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Has the authority to make responsible decisions comparable to scope of position.
- Supports client groups with the talent pipeline requirements in line with recruitment strategy.
- Maintains close contact with the HR team to work in synchronization with the other business units.
- Applies employee relations and employment practices in order to create a positive, ethical, effective work environment.
- Recruits new employees by searching out and identifying potential candidates, adapting process using creativity and personal network when appropriate; conducts employment interviews to determine employability; advises on employment decisions; determines compensation packages in conjunction with management, considering all relevant factors; makes employment offers.
- May participate in cross-functional project teams.
- Builds relationships with, and co-ordinates the work of, external service providers & partners.
- Works with and coordinates agency recruiting.
- Administers leave of absence process.
- Contributes to providing HR services that are appropriate to internal client needs, identifies new opportunities where HR can add value, and maintains leading-edge knowledge of HR issues.
- Understands employee opinions, monitors the effect of business decisions on people, and advises senior management on addressing employees’ concerns.
- Solves employee relations, staffing, performance, or other issues.
- Understands compensation theories and practices.
- Provides guidance to less experienced team members.
- Provides interpretation, consultation and facilitation to employees and management in confidential employment issues to promote resolution.
- Processes paperwork and maintains information as required.
- Maintains employee files.
- Presents invoices for payment.
Education And Experience
- College/University degree in Human Resources or Business Administration.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
