About the role

This Human Resources Representative provides full employment-cycle support to the Palmyra, PA manufacturing facility, which employs approximately 120 people. The role is responsible for recruiting, hiring, orientation, day-to-day HR administration, and ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations. This position reports to the office five days a week and is not remote.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate administrative aspects of HR activities, including performance appraisals, personnel requisitions, job descriptions, new hire processes, and leaves of absence.
  • Source and screen candidates for hiring managers; develop and maintain relationships with community outreach programs for the Affirmative Action Program.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement new hire employee orientation for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Monitor employee turnover and implement programs to reduce it.
  • Enter electronic employee data into the Human Resources Management System (HRIS).
  • Monitor and track hourly attendance; handle associated paperwork.
  • Support hourly employee training and maintain training records.
  • Serve as the plant’s FMLA coordinator and point of contact for leaves of absence, including disability and FMLA.
  • Monitor FMLA and short-term disability; process appropriate paperwork.
  • Support the hourly performance evaluation process and track training records.
  • Monitor and respond to unemployment claims.
  • Investigate employee relations concerns and escalate as needed to the Area HR Manager.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures; share information to improve service delivery.
  • Support PCA’s business philosophy of meeting customer needs and exceeding expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field OR two (2) years of relevant Human Resources experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with management and hourly personnel.
  • Proficiency in PC applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple details, deadlines, and requests.
  • Demonstrable leadership behaviors and a strong understanding of broad-range HR issues.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) to four (4) years of HR experience in the manufacturing industry, with knowledge of employee relations, recruiting, selection, and orientation/training on HR matters.
  • Experience with HRIS software.
  • Experience with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action Plans and procedures.

Pay

Starting salary range: $68,000–$78,000 (depending on experience).

Annual bonus based on individual contribution and company performance.
