Human Resources Paid Intern Part Time

American Plastics, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative plastic‑injection molded products for the household & garage storage and commercial cleaning markets. The Human Resources Intern position is located in Sycamore, OH (Findlay area) and is a part‑time, paid internship reporting to the Human Resources Manager. Candidates must be U.S. citizens; relocation is not provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist Talent Acquisition in sourcing new candidates.
• Update company databases with new employee contact information and employment details.
• Screen resumes/applications of potential hourly production employees to identify suitable candidates.
• Post job advertisements to job boards and social media platforms.
• Launch and complete the onboarding process via the applicant tracking system.
• Coordinate new‑hire orientations.
• Respond to staff inquiries regarding HR policies, employee benefits, and other HR‑related matters.
• Maintain the monthly team‑member newsletter.
• Help plan and execute team‑member recognition and retention initiatives.

Requirements

• Currently studying for a degree in human resource management or a related field.
• Proven experience working in an office environment.
• Working knowledge of U.S. labor laws (a plus).
• Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information System) software (preferred).
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented.

Schedule

Part‑time hours will be based upon the candidate’s school schedule.
