Human Resources Intern - Spring/Summer 2027
About the role
This HR internship position offers a hybrid model with a mix of on-site work at the Ruan Center located downtown Des Moines and remote work. The opportunity is available to start in Spring 2027 and continue through Summer 2027. Interns will work with an experienced team of recruiters hiring for a wide variety of positions and locations, playing a role in enhancing the candidate experience. The purpose of the internship is to develop college students pursuing careers in supply chain, transportation, accounting, human resources, IT, or applicable divisions. Interns may be exposed to a variety of projects and activities within the transportation business, applying college‑learned knowledge and skills in the workplace. The position is temporary, nonexempt, part‑time/hourly, and requires adherence to the company's organizational values and applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of reports and presentation material (25%)
- Provide day-to-day business activities focused on meeting internal and external customer needs (25%)
- Fully support financial business case analysis (25%)
- Participate in major cost and process improvement initiatives and projects, and provide technical support in managing the business unit's financial performance (20%)
- Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required (5%)
