About the role
The Hill City Howlers, proud 2025 Carolina League Champions and the Single-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians, are seeking a part-time driven Human Resources Generalist to join our front office team. This role is ideal for someone who is fair, empathetic, and understands human resource procedures and policies as they relate to employment in Virginia and other legal requirements. The HR Generalist will execute part-time HR administration, full-time and part-time hiring, and assist with employee policies and procedures. They will partner with ownership and upper management on key initiatives that drive employee engagement and business performance while establishing a positive work culture.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with management ensuring HR strategies, processes, and practices are implemented and followed.
- Assist with developing job descriptions and listing employment vacancies.
- Provide coaching and feedback to all levels of employees, addressing various employee-related issues and business needs.
- Communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards, and other government regulations.
- Ensure company compliance with all existing governmental and labor reporting requirements.
- Prepare required documentation for compliance with all state and federal laws, and create and maintain employee files.
- Lead employee relations functions and execution of investigations into policy and law violations, in addition to handling general employee concerns.
- Exhibit an active interest in company and venue-specific operational knowledge to provide value-added HR business partnership.
- Demonstrate thought leadership, suitable judgment, and utmost confidentiality in making HR-related business decisions.
- Assist with the recruitment and management of front office employees.
- Manage quarterly written and verbal evaluations and assessments of staff in concert with Senior Management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or other equivalent experience.
- At least five years of human resources experience.
- Recruitment and hiring experience at all levels of the organization.
- Outstanding leadership skills with a high level of knowledge of labor policies.
- Strong oral, written, and listening communication skills, with the ability to prioritize and execute in a deadline-oriented environment.
- A strong commitment to delivering a high level of employee service at all levels, with demonstrated initiative and time management skills.
